Which assignment do you think was the best for your learning this semester? Why?
Which assignment was the least helpful to your learning this semester? Why?
Next semester, I am thinking of eliminating PRJs and making the reflection a part of the DCA assignment, adding a (short) personal essay at the beginning of the class, putting the Annotated Bib second, and then making the final assignment a shorter research paper (i.e. eliminating the Critical Essay and making it into a research paper.) Would this work? Why or why not?
Next semester, I am thinking of setting up writing groups. After the first assignment, I would put people in small groups with other students who are researching similar things (i.e the plagiarism people, the bilingual education people, etc.), and the groups would give each other feedback, share resources, and have each other as a resource as they did the annotated bib and the final research paper. Is this a good idea? Why or why not?
There is a Slack integration that will allow me to schedule messages to send them later. I am planning to use this as one option for accessing the syllabus (so you would get a Slack reminder about what's due tomorrow on Monday if the class was on Tuesday.) Would you subscribe to this channel? Does this make sense as a thing to do?
