Organization

This section will help you to concentrate on questions related to the organization of your partner’s essay.

In your own words, give a brief summary of your partner's entire argument.

Use this box to give a "reverse outline" of each paragraph in your partner's essay. To do this, think about the purpose of each paragraph (i.e. I. summary of the BIAW chapter, II. first claim about what the author got wrong and evidence, III. analysis III. second claim about what the author got wrong and evidence, IV. analysis, V. research questions for the next assignment)

Choose any paragraph in the draft. Using the comment feature on the draft itself, highlight the places in the paragraph where your partner transitions from one idea to the next. Then comment below: are the transitions logical to you? Were you able to follow the author's train of thought all the way through the paragraph?

Were there any moments when you read the essay that you were confused about the argument that your partner was making? Note them here, and also put a comment in the draft.

Points, Evidence, and Analysis or Claim / Evidence / Warrant

Use this section to give your partner ideas about how you’re understanding their points, evidence, and support, and to give them feedback on what could be expanded.

If your partner used the PEAS method or Claim / Evidence / Warrant to organize their paragraphs, indicate where the "claims" are, where the "evidence" is, and what the "warrants" are (you can do this by color coding the draft, commenting, or in whatever way is easiest for you. Put each of the author's claims in your own words in the box below.

Stance

What is your partner's stance? In other words, does your partner agree with the BIAW author, partially agree, disagree, etc.?

Does your partner use any technique(s) to indicate their stance? For example, does your partner leapfrog, ass-kiss, pick a fight, piggyback, etc.?

Is your partner's stance different than the stance that the author of the BIAW chapter takes? In other words, do you see your partner repeating the argument of the chapter, or saying something new?

This section is a place to give your partner feedback on moments that their essay departed from conventions as you understand them.
